Confronting the Feminist Mindset

I read all sorts of blogs and websites regularly...one of which is Amy Alkon, the Advice Goddess. She often serves up humorous, sarcastic servings of "advice" to people that write to her requesting relationship advice.

Her latest advice column was interesting and funny...as usual. But while I was reading the blog commentary, I got inspired to log in and participate in the debate after reading the feminist-centric commentary from a few of the ladies. I used the screen name of "Dave from Hawaii" Not my real name, of course, but it is the nickname I went by when I lived in the Mainland back in '93, as too many people I met had trouble pronouncing and remembering my Hawaiian name.

It was almost fun debating these ladies. Note how they tried to use every technique in the feminist indoctrination playbook - the shaming language, ad hominem attacks and calling me a racist, a bigot, blah blah blah.

This was actually the first time I've ever gotten myself involved in an online debate regarding feminism and the various MRA topics we are all familiar with. But it was so easy to see right through all of the pathetic attempts employed by these ladies.

I felt like a gunslinger in a knife fight.

I might have to do this sort of thing a little more often....

*Sorry for the double post, I made an error with the first in regards to the username/id/link. Feel free to delete that one.

Hi HL,

A good post here, and the link to the debating area looks very interesting.

In regards to dialogues of this nature, I used to (I can't be bothered with most forums anymore) get in to all sorts of debates/arguments with these kinds of fools and one thing I learned was this: they won't be converted. They won't even meet you a 1/10th of the way. They made their minds up years ago when they decided to talk their claptrap and no amount of conversation (or logic for that matter) will ever make them see sense.

That said, you will probably sway a few observers who are approaching the topic from the outside, and it is here I believe you will be able to convey your message to a more ageeable audience. I think you'll find what you said over there will ruffle a few feathers, and perhaps educate others who, had it not been for an alternative voice, would have swallowed their lies and idiocy for all eternity.

I think you did a good job.

Anyway, I also wanted to say thanks for the link, and that I'll be updating my own links section over the weekend and will include your good blog to it.

Thanks,

Snid

I used to actually get on iVillage on the board, 'Feminism Today,' I fight with the women there all day long & for years and it was insane. I learned that you really cannot even talk to women- the only thing you can hope for is to get in theri pants- beyond that they monsters anw worthless.
