Have you heard of the so-called "Mandela Effect?" It's a trending meme on teh Interwebz and it's making many folks apparently question reality and their grasp of sanity.
When I searched for "Mandela Effect" on Infogalactic, I got automatically redirected to the page entitled Confabulation.
In psychiatry, confabulation (verb: confabulate) is a memory disturbance, defined as the production of fabricated, distorted or misinterpreted memories about oneself or the world, without the conscious intention to deceive.[1] Individuals who confabulate present incorrect memories ranging from "subtle alterations to bizarre fabrications",[2] and are generally very confident about their recollections, despite contradictory evidence.[3]
Given the lack of any content of the Discussion page for the entry, I suspected the content and the auto-redirect of my search terms originates with Wikipedia's propaganda information control psyops before Infogalactic forked it. So I did the exact same search at Wikipedia and sure enough, on the Talk page, I found the following:
I returned to Wikipedia to post my rejection to Wikipedia rewriting the definition of the term "Mandela Effect" to replace the meaning of the term with a critical explanation for it. I discovered that the page has been removed altogether and that the term now brings one to this article, which doesn't even mention the term in it at all (yet this page is linked by the term.) - Neurolanis (talk) 10:05, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
Having only quickly skimmed over the topic after briefly encountering it while surfing through the fever swamps of my favorite haunts on the lunatic fringes of teh Interwebz, I decided to try and figure out what exactly this is all about.
So I consulted with Googliath and followed the
The Berenstain/Berenstein BearsThe consensus has been manufactured and T.H.E.Y. have spoken. So let it be
No single example of the Mandela Effect has generated more online buzz than that of the children's book series and animated TV show The Berenstain Bears. Quite a few people who grew up with the series, it turns out, remember the title being The Berenstein Bears, with the name ending in "ein" instead of "ain" (with some even going to go so far as to maintain that the fictional bears' surname was changed along the way to make it "less Jewish"):
A page on Broome's web site cites a number of testimonials:
I too clearly remember it as ‘Berenstein’ even though I never read the books. Why would anyone change that? Seems irrelevant.Does anyone remember the Berenstein Bears? I do. Although somewhere along the line the name has changed to the Berenstain Bears. No record of “stein” which is definitely how it was when i was younger. No question about it.I would like to say that I VERY CLEARLY remember “Berenstain Bears” being Berenstein Bears. I very specifically remember it being pronounced “STEIN” on the show.Didn't it used to be the Berenstein Bears? Now, suddenly it's the Berenstain bears? Is this some sort of anti-semitic cover-up? Or have those of us who grew up in the 1980's been misinformed, misread, and mispronounced?Clearly, something of interest is going on here, but what? How to explain the fact that many different people can share the same false memory? This, unfortunately, is where much of the Internet discussion on the topic veers into woo-woo territory.
Certainly it can't be an organized CONSPIRACY THEORY for the Government-Corporation-Foundation-NGO-Banking Cartel Industrial Complex and their useful idiot status whores and establishment cucks to collectively gaslight we the sheeple and make us think we are all losing our minds!
Snopes goes on to reference the more popular misformed disinformation memes that have been propagated to explain it all...the "woo-woo territory" that Snopes references involves ideas like parallel universes and virtual realities. It's a whole new world of conspiracy theory for us Whackaloon Conspiritards to 'sperg on!
According to the top Google search results, Wikipedia, Snopes, and the top meme's found on a Google image search, it has ALWAYS BEEN The Berenstain Bears, and the only scientifically approved explanation for why you and I and so many other people remember it differently is mass mistaken memory!
If you think there's something fishy going on here, and you distinctly remember otherwise, why you're just singing Looney Tunes...or is that Looney Toons?
Never mind the fact that in almost every case of research you do into "The Mandela Effect" involves fungible consumer products, sheeple feed, movies and Tell-a-vision shows....all of which are owned, copyrighted, marketed, distributed and/or printed, published or broadcast by entities that are interconnected into the Worldwide corporate control grid.
And all those folks involved in keeping the current system going...T.H.E.Y. couldn't possibly have a good motive for attempting to manipulate our minds like this, right?
Or is it some renegade transmissions from a parallel universe or glitches in our matrix computer simulation reality that's plaguing us with all this FakeNews our betters are working so hard to

This is an interesting post. I turned to my woman and asked her what she remembered and she said "ein" while my 20 year old said "ain". This spurred a conversation about how our culture is also being subtilely gaslighted by the new pronunciations of words.
Like SCHISM being pronounced SK-ism with a hard K instead of with a soft C like in Scissors. All my childhood it was pronounced like the "Sci" in scissors.
Other words as well are being redone like this. I think this is done to create a new class of "Stupid people" so as to destroy our confidence in our memories.
Good post. Thought provoking.
On that topic, how many moons have you chaps been seeing in the sky lately? Just the usual number, right?
Something else to add to the list is things going 'poof' and disappearing off the net, deliberate scrubbing. Which makes one question whether they read it at all.
You will also find numerous and serious changes in the Bible http://mandela-effect.epizy.com/list_of_changes/files/newest_changes_compilation.pdf?i=2
From the information I've gathered, the White Rabbit project at CERN along with the D-Wave Quantum computer are some of the culprits of this.

I was leaning towards the ME being a media fakery based psyop for gaslighting purposes, but now I'm not so sure. I first noticed some things had changed back in 2010. The first thing many "conspiritards" noticed, was that many of us had vivid memories of a number of celebrities dying, only to find out they were alive again. Mandela, Bill Graham, Louie Anderson, and a bunch of others are on that list. Now, since "they" control the news and entertainment media, it would be easy to disseminate false reports of deaths (Sandy Hoax anyone?) in order to push some kind of agenda, or as some kinds of MK Ultra style mass mind control experiment. Then the pop culture changes started, often to the most iconic lines in beloved movies. "Luke/No I am your father", "Life is/was like a box of chocolates", The Portrait/Picture of Dorian Gray, etc. Again, could easily just be a psyop. What weirds me out are the geography changes, and what seem to be changes to the human anatomy. Go down that rabbit hole, and media manipulation cannot be the sole explanation.
Noticed it, glad I'm not the only one.
I haven't seen Mariah Carey mentioned on these sites.
I remember her appearing on the scene in the late 80s, the record shows the early 90s
I watched her on David letterman in the late 80s, when I watched letterman with a roommate.
Because of circumstances, I did not watch letterman in the 90s but the records says her first appearance was in the 90s
There also used to be NINE planets. Anyone remember those?
"There also used to be NINE planets. Anyone remember those?"
Ah, that was just a conspiracy of the plutocrats.
There's a movie that was done in the mid 90s called "Joe's Apartment." When it came out I was 13 and it starred Keane Reeves as Joe, the main character. Imagine my surprise, years later, when I am trying to find the movie and it's starring Jerry O'Connell. This is just one of the many "glitches" I have experienced in my life...
I'm sure plenty of people have old BB books in their basements. Wouldn't it be easy just to dust one off and look at it? Why even argue about it? What am I missing?
@ Roman Lance - "This is an interesting post. I turned to my woman and asked her what she remembered and she said "ein" while my 20 year old said "ain". This spurred a conversation about how our culture is also being subtilely gaslighted by the new pronunciations of words."
Upon further review, I believe this is a gaslighting psyop aimed primarily at GenX and older. There is probably some point in time in which T.H.E.Y. switched over from producing hard copy with the Berenstein to Berenstain, so there now exists hard copies of both. To my whackaloon conspiritard viewpoint, it's a multi-generational conspiracy that's been in the works for a long, long time.
@ Nikolai - "On that topic, how many moons have you chaps been seeing in the sky lately? Just the usual number, right?"Please comrade, do not try and distract us with such lunacy.
@ Wilson - "How the fuck can you make a post on "The Mandela Effect" without referencing Nelson Mandela and all the shit he did while being the HNIC of the ANC?
Why no references to 1984 doublehthink and the memory hole?
You're slacking, Keoni. Shame on you! Shame goddammit!"
When it comes to blogging and my "virtual face" I have no shame!
@ Webtrafficbuilder - "From the information I've gathered, the White Rabbit project at CERN along with the D-Wave Quantum computer are some of the culprits of this.

Meh. I believe the entire CERN is nothing but a black ops budgeted makework red herring. There is no time travel, man has no power to "tear the fabric of reality" or "slip" through parallel universes. But the whackos (see their satanic opening ceremony video) who draw their salaries from the budget certainly enjoy the perception of mystery to keep their racket going.
@ Brian K - "Go down that rabbit hole, and media manipulation cannot be the sole explanation." Except everything you cite as examples that can't be explained by media manipulation, are actually precisely that. Changing maps and anatomical diagrams are all forms of media manipulation.
@ Stephen J - "Ah, that was just a conspiracy of the plutocrats." LOZLOZLZOL
In conclusion, this is all nothing more than an exercise in mind control of the we the sheeple.
If things go the way T.H.E.Y. intend, you can be certain in the near future that things like PizzaGate will become "alternate universe" occurrences that only exist in the fevered dreams of fake news conspiritards.
I'm considered someone caught in the (very small) late X, early millennial crowd, and I can distinctly remember the title of the books left in doctor's offices changing from -ein to -ain. Thought it was very strange. Happened in the very early 90s. Very odd that they're wiping and reference to -ein and denying its existence. My spidey senses are tingling.
@KeoniGalt
I would do more research before blowing off CERN and D-Wave computing. Did you look any of that up? The actual patents available?
These top scientist literally admit there are parallel timelines that can be crossed:

I agree time is a human construct however realities are a projection of your subconscious which can be altered.
There is a "red herring" CERN and then the REAL CERN. Just like HAARP.
Did you know the first CERN was actually in Africa in the 90s?
Do you know who actually created the internet? Darpa. The same teams behind CERN
Well I did not know about the DARPA - CERN connection. Thanks WebTrafficblogger, I'll look further into it later.
@Keoni Galt: It occurred to me that the geography and anatomy changes could be accomplished through media fakery, though it seems like a lot of pilots, ships' captains, and medical personnel would have to be "read in" on the project if that's the case. Not saying that's not a possibility, and Occam's razor certainly suggests a psyop designed to make us question the nature of our reality is the most likely scenario. I agree with you about CERN. I think it's as much of a money laundering fakery factory as NASA, the ESA, or Space X. Still, I live in South Florida, and have gone on numerous cruises to the Bahamas, and it does not seem right that the Bahamas are due East of me. I know that google earth can't be trusted, because google, so I understand where you're coming from on this. Interestingly, one pop culture ME that a lot of people report is remembering Interview With The Vampire as Interview With A Vampire. I no longer have a VCR, but I have an old VHS copy of Interview With THE Vampire. So if in fact that one changed (and I don't have a strong feeling on that particular ME), then it changed in my physical reality. That's a big if.
Something I've realized over time is that many of the "conspiracies" turned out to be true. Ron Unz has a series up at UNZ review entitled American Pravada in which he details how the CIA actually managed to usher "conspiracy theory" into the public eye and get it permanently attached with a negative connotation.
So much of what I once thought was absolute, I've started to question, especially in regards to the history of the last 100 years.
Its not targeting you. THEY are fishing for gullible superstitious "True Believers". The Darwin Cult isn't about man's origins at all. Its takes two giant agendas and puts them together. The Satanist/ Atheist no God/ Higher Authority than the State & the Gnostic Heresy of man becoming gods. Evolution isn't science, its a Darwin Cult. No God/Morality above the State & the Ascension of Man into Godhead. Its their endgame. THEY don't want merely to rule you. THEY want you to see THEM as gods. Anyone who believes this nonsense, and the Global Warming garbage, is gullible enough to be a "true believer".
Hi everyone!!!
I'm so excited share this testimony here about how i got my ex husband back after a break up. I'm Clara 28 yr old from USA, Am a woman who love and cherish my husband more than any other thing you can imagine on earth continent. My husband was so lovely and caring after 3 years of marriage he was seriously ill and the doctor confirm and said he has a kidney infection that he needed a kidney donor, that was how I start searching for who can help, doctor has given me a periodic hour that he will live just 24 hours left, that was how I ask the doctor if I can be of help to my husband that was how he carried out the text, the confirming was successful, I was now having this taught that since 3 years now we got married I have not be able to get pregnant can I be able to get bring again? That was the question I ask the doctor, he never answer his response was did you want to lost your husband? I immediately reply no I can't afford to lose him. After the operation my husband came back to live and was healthy I was also OK with the instruction given to me by the doctor, after 3 months my husband came home with another lady telling me, that is our new wife that will give us kids and take care of us, that was how I was confused and started crying all day, that was how my husband ran away with his new wife cleanable. Since then I was confuse don't know what to do that was how I went back to the doctor and tell him everything, he told me that, this is not just an ordinary it must be a spiritual problem that was how he gave me this Email: Ahmedutimate@gmail.com that I should tell he all my problem that he can help that was how i contacted he and I do as instructed. After 22 hours and I have done what he ask me to do, my husband start searching for me and went back to the doctor, that was how we well settle he also told me not to worry that I will get pregnant, this month making it the fifth Month I contacted he am now 3 months pregnant. These great spell cater is a great man,

Personally I'm leaning psyop or collective delusions. Remember the mass hysteria's of the recent past? Ever seen one of those reading exercises where they trick you to see a word thats not there or is different than you initially read? Or the video of the bear walking across the court? Our memories aren't immutable. That said, neither is anything digital in this mass surveillance world.
The Bible changes are what worry me most. But from what I've seen it can all be explained by differences between translations. With so many translations flitting around our minds store different bits from different translations.
Even when dealing with one translation you have problems as the publishers make changes. Even the vaunted KJV, which is always listed as just KJV, has had publisher changes (not mandella changes) many times over the years. Unless someone is listing a 1611 version you never know which revision of the KJV you're looking at.
My favorite example is trespasses/debtor in the Lords prayer. The version many people remember as the original is a cultural memory going back to the Anglican Common Book of Prayer. Your high church denominations often recite the prayer in their liturgy, the translation of which may not match the bible.
Something similar [e.g. cultural artifact] is likely at work with the Isaiah lion/lamb but I havn't seen a good explanation yet.
Another thing to remember is that the farther back you go in the bible the less reliable the translation of some of the animals; some are simply just guesses as we don't know what they refer to. This shouldn't be too much surprise, even modern day biologists spend inordinate amounts of time fighting over the identity of different species and subspecies.
All that said, the Mandela affect does give new dimension to the prophecies of the antichrist 'changing the times' and being so powerful 'who can oppose him'. How much more power could one have than changing history and time itself?
I've got an old berenstain bears book, its spelt stain on it; The big honey hunt, from the 60s been in my family since before I was born. I did and still pronounce it stein. we've got some older ones from the 80s and they're spelt stain as well.
I think the bears may be a distraction to something else they really did change.
I think there may be something to all this parallel universe stuff. For example, up until November 8 I lived in a universe in which Hillary was a lock to be the next president of the United States. Now I find myself in this universe, where Donald Trump is the president-elect.
Not that I'm complaining; I like this universe a lot better. But it still feels weird.

I used to pronounce Berenstein Bears, BEAR-IN-STEEN Bears. I did not know how "stein" was pronounced so would say "steen" instead of "stine". I would not have done that if it was "stain".
"I'm sure plenty of people have old BB books in their basements. Wouldn't it be easy just to dust one off and look at it?"
This is exactly what I did.
Our copies were bought in the early 1980s. -ain, every one.
"There is probably some point in time in which T.H.E.Y. switched over from producing hard copy with the Berenstein to Berenstain, so there now exists hard copies of both."
Do you have actual physical examples?
"I can distinctly remember the title of the books left in doctor's offices changing from -ein to -ain. Thought it was very strange. Happened in the very early 90s. "
If you are suggesting a government psyops team snuck into my parents' house, dug through the dusty piles of childrens' books, and swapped out all the unapproved copies, all I can ask is how can I get a desk job with that outfit, because they sure must have money to burn.
I've spent a fair amount of time in software testing. I am pretty good at it. One of the things you really need to internalize in that line of work is that you can fool yourself very, very easily. Example: I had a secure laptop on loan to me from a client for working on their project, had been using it for a week. Following Monday I went to log in. Password didn't work. Huh? I says to myself. Type it again, carefully. Nope. Nope several times. Sat there staring at the screen, decided - just as normal tester reflex - to try each of the other passwords I'd used in other work contexts. One of them worked. I'd been describing the issue to my cube neighbors; at this point, I was going on about how I totally didn't understand how this could happen ... unless ... unless, through sheer unthinking reflex, I'd been typing in that other password all week without thinking about it, and that this day being the first day where I actually stopped and thought, "Ok, what's my password?", this day was the one where I got knocked off the reflex track.
Now, in that little story: EITHER there is a government agency with total penetration of a minor contractor's systems going out of their way to swap passwords around so as to mess with some completely random tester's head while counting on never being detected (and if they're that good why the hell do they need testers for their software), OR I was indeed acting on mental autopilot for the preceding week, and simply made a mistake.
Experience has taught me to be far more willing to believe in my own temporary fallibility than in undetectable conspiracies purposefully messing with nobodies.
Other example: the battle of Midway, when the divebombers took out 3 Japanese carriers in 10 minutes. After the battle, when they were debriefing the bomber pilots and trying to figure out exactly how things had happened, they noticed something. Every bomber squadron told the same story: they arrived in sight of the Japanese fleet. No other American planes were in sight, anywhere. They attacked the biggest ship they could see. When they were done with their attack, two other ships that they hadn't attacked were also smoking and sinking. Now, there were multiple bomber squadrons in the air, they'd all dropped their bombs - but they all insisted on exactly the same story: nobody else when they got there, they attacked the biggest, two ships they hadn't attacked on fire when they were done. Somebody had to have arrived 2nd, and 3rd; somebody had to have attacked a ship that was smaller - but all the bomber pilots swore it wasn't possible.
Eyewitness reports are not reliable. Cops know this too. It's why they have people tell their stories over and over and over again.
Until you turn up a physical example, the explanation is precisely the one you don't want to hear: you fooled yourself. Because, as Richard Feynman said, "you are the easiest person to fool".
@Rollory : Why should we believe you ? Anybody can say anything on internet.
If they spend millions dollars for this psyop, then they could spend a few thousands to pay people to post false comments on websites trying to expose the truth.
