Genetically Modified Childhood

Yet again I was asked recently by someone I had not seen in a long time what my "secret" was for losing all that extra weight I used to carry around.

Used to be, anyone asked, I'd just say I did the "Paleo Diet" and if they were interested, I'd tell 'em to just check out marksdailyapple.com. But before I could even do that, the question was followed up with "You're not one of those caveman-paleo diet fanatics, are you?"

Okay. Hearing that from this particular person convinced me once and for all: the PALEO DIET has jumped the shark.

So I answered: "I'm not on a diet, I just don't eat GMO."

"That's all you had to do?"

"Yup. Thing is, once you start looking into just how much of the food we eat is sourced from GMO crops, you find yourself eating like a caveman."

Heh.

While it does appear that the Paleo diet  has indeed been co-opted, subverted and marginalized in popular consciousness, I like to think that it went through a reformation once the most influential bloggers and writers of the Paleo blogosphere eventually rejected the idea that "low carb" and "zero carb" dieting is a key component to the praxeology.

It took years to get rid of the commonly accepted idea that carbohydrate consumption itself was the reason for the rising rates of obesity and sickness of the citizenry all across the bloated plains. Same goes for various versions that involve measuring the ratios of fats to protein in your primal meals. This is because when many of us who first discovered the "paleo diet" blogosphere found successful weight loss and improved health and vitality after adopting the proscriptions, it was only too easy to credit the "low carb-high fat" theory as to why this "diet" seemed to work miraculously.

But now that many of the luminaries of the Paleo blogposphere have moved on to studying the importance of gut bacteria, gut health and the role resistant starch and fermented pre and pro biotics plays in the immune system and over all health, a new angle on just how malevolent GMO crop feed is to human health emerges.

At this point in time, when one gains a true understanding of how our modern, industrialized corporate food production system works, I can now confidently attribute it to the consumption of all three categories, for the entire feed industry is based off of manufacturing products from carbohydrates, proteins and fats...all derived from GMO plant crops. It's the GMO itself and how it affects the gut bacteria of not just we the sheeple, but any living organism that ingests it on a regular basis.

Most folks who discover the "Paleo diet" after years of ill health and weight management issues.  For the early adopters, while the low-carb paradigm has since been proven fallacious, nevertheless it does prove effective, because limiting carbohydrate intake means largely limiting your intake of GMO sourced feed.

But for most people today, it takes a health condition or weight management problems to get them to look more closely at exactly what they are eating. But I see an even bigger problem that is going to manifest in an even worse outcome in the next decade or so with regards to kids being raised from birth on GMO feed products.

Sadly today, I note that many parents in society today are feeding their children a steady diet of GMO processed feed products like cereal, chips, crackers, cookies, cakes, pastries, and all sorts of snack foods designed to make the kids stop whining and crying about their hunger for a few minutes.

Most folks never make the connection between their children's behavior and the snacks and breakfast cereals they are feeding them, and if they do, they invariably blame the sugar content. Sugar most certainly does have an effect...but that is only part of the story.

For instance, while the following article focuses on the possible link between autism and GMO feed, I found an interesting angle on the topic with regards to behavior of test animals regularly eating GMO feed:

When Dr. Huber visited an ongoing research project utilizing rats, he said those animals fed non-GMO feed were “as passive as can be. You can take them out. You can put them on your lap. Treat them almost like a pet cat.” Not so with the rats eating genetically engineered food: “You can hardly catch the rats that have received the GMO feed for a month and a half to two months,” he said. “They go off by themselves. They’re irritated. Crawl up the cage. . . . [They] don’t get along with each other.”

Farmers are reporting the same thing with pigs raised on GMO corn. According to Dr. Huber, a farmer told him that “his pigs just seem to be always irritated. They can’t get along with the other pigs.” Veterinarian Don Skow described similar odd behavior in the pigs of his client. “They would get cannibalistic. They would consume each other—ear biting and tail biting.” And when put in nurseries after weaning, he says, some “would get a condition like Alzheimer’s. They would lose the ability to know where the feed was. A lot of them would die.” Although many of these odd behaviors had been dismissed as normal stress responses for confined animals, when farmers switched to non-GMO feed and the problems went away, the real cause became obvious.

Similar antisocial patterns that Huber described were observed by a Dutch college student more than a decade ago when comparing mice fed GMO or non-GMO soy and corn. He wrote, “The mice fed on GM food seemed less active while in their cages. The differences in activity between the two cages grew as the experiment progressed.” The differences were most striking when he moved the mice to weigh them: “The mice from the GM cage were noticeably more distressed by the occurrence than the other mice. Many were running round and round the basket, scrabbling desperately in the sawdust, and even frantically jumping up the sides, something I’d never seen before. They were clearly more nervous. . . . For me this was the most disconcerting evidence that GM food is not quite normal.”[2]

Dr. Irina Ermakova, PhD, a senior researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences, reported to the European Congress of Psychiatry in March 2006 that male rats fed GM soy exhibited anxiety and aggression, while those fed non-GMO soy did not [3]. Ermakova reported the same behavior in GM soy-fed female rats and their offspring in her study published in Ecosinform. The animals “attacked and bit each other and the worker."[4]

I know parents who are at wits end with their children's behavior. From my point of view, they love their children, but don't really like to spend time with them because of their incorrigible behavior. And they often remark at the stark contrast with my own progeny who is calm, well behaved and easy to babysit. Mind you, my kid is not "perfect." But the differences are readily apparent enough for many folks to comment. And they always tell me that I'm "lucky." At this point, I say it with full confidence that luck has nothing to do with it.

Family who knew me as a kid are especially amazed at my offspring's demeanor, attitude and behavior, given how much of a little ADD/ADHD/ODD hell raiser troublemaker I was. My wife likes to take credit for her genes being the primary factor there, and there may be something to that. But I've seen it one too many times now, how little kids attitudes and behavior changes for the worse, sometimes in mere minutes after eating or drinking GMO-based junk feed.

When I try to suggest that maybe parents should feed their kids nutritious, home-cooked food instead of eating processed feed, they all say the same thing - there's no time for that. Everyone has got to fight traffic jams to get to school and work, so it's coffee for the adults, and breakfast cereal and snack foods while riding in the car. Then the kids get their GMO-based feed from their school vending machines, nearby convenience stores and the cafeterias. By the time working parents and school kids are home in the evening, everyone is too tired to cook, so they eat fast food or restaurant take out. It's no exaggeration to say that for many folks in our Brave New World Order, when it comes to their diet, it's all GMO, all the time.

Having read the product labels and researched the brands of much of the "kid snacks" many parents are feeding their kids (not to mention the regularity of eating fast food meals,) everything they eat is inevitably sourced from one of these 6 major corporate feed brands, who are also the primary backers for funding the opposition to several mandatory GMO-labeling initiatives that got voted on earlier this month in the mid-term elections of several States. They spent millions to fund propaganda to prevent them from having to label their GMO feed accordingly.

Here are 6 huge conglomerates aiming to ruin your right to know what is in your food.
1. Pepsi-Co (Including Frito-Lay and Doritos)

This behemoth has hardly been touched by consumer frustration with GMOs, even it is just as guilty as many other companies when it comes to food secrets. This is also the company who had to settle a $9 million class-action lawsuit over Naked Juice false advertising – claiming the products were ‘all natural’ and ‘100% juice’ when they are actually full of GMOs. Pepsi-Co was also revealed as one of the big spenders behind the anti-labeling campaigns illegally filtered through the Grocery Manufacturer’s Association. The company topped the list with a $1,620,899 donation to keep you in the dark about GMOs.
2. Kellogg’s
This company is downright shady. Kellogg’s company recently paid $5 million to settle a class-action lawsuit for falsely labeling Kashi products as “All Natural” or “Nothing Artificial.” They have also contributed a total of $1.6 million to defeat GMO labeling initiatives. In a consumer lab test, it was also found that Kellogg’s uses 100% GMO corn in several of their breakfast cereals and other products. Kashi products even made it onto the Non-GMO project’s list of safe foods, but they aren’t safe at all
3. General Mills

GM says: “We don’t use genetically modified ingredients in original Cheerios. Our principal ingredient has always been whole grain oats – and there are no GMO oats. We use a small amount of corn starch in cooking, and just one gram of sugar per serving for taste. But our corn starch comes from non-GMO corn, and we use only non-GMO pure cane sugar.”

This is only in one type of cereal they sell, though. Only two percent of the company’s shareholders favor a complete GMO ban. GM’s CEO says, he “sees no reason within the United States to bar ingredients grown from biotech crops.”

4. Nestle/Gerber Co

This company puts GMOs in baby food. Need I say more? The company removed GMOs from baby formulas in South Africa after public pressure forced them to, but it continues to put them in American-sold versions. Formulas like Good Start and others contain GM soybean oil, GM soy lecithin, and GM maltodextrin, as well as corn syrup derived from GM crops. Along with Pepsi-Co and Coca-Cola, the company spent over $1 million to defeat GMO labeling in Washington, and more to defeat labeling in Oregon.

5. Hershey’s

Just how much will you like that chocolate bar after finding out that Hershey’s donated $800,000 to defeat California’s Prop 37 and Washington’s I-522, and another $500,000 to defeat this year’s initiatives in Oregon and Colorado? The company has only one organic brand—Dagoba. Time for a boycott? After all, there are hundreds of non-GMO fair-trade chocolate makers out there. Try some of these non-GMO sweets instead.

6. Coca-Cola

This soda empire has contributed more than $1.5 million to keep your teeth rotting from consuming their GMO-filled sodas. They also utilize high fructose corn syrup that is almost entirely GMO-corn derived. Here are other sodas that contain GMOs, too.

I know of kids for whom it seems their entire diet is based on the products of these corporate GMO feed conglomerates. While the article I posted urges a boycott of the products of these corporations, I urge parents to boycott these products for your kids health, your peace of mind, and your sanity in trying to simply raise them.

How Not To I.D. Genetically Modified Food at the Supermarket

UPDATE - Thanks to commenters Scott and jay for providing links pointing out that this PLU number can be used to identify GMO was an idea that was created to implement by grocers so they could differentiate their own produce, but because GMO labeling is voluntary, nobody uses it because the popular backlash against GMO is so strong, they know any PLU label that began with 8 would reduce sales.

Ah well, looks like I'll have to stick to farmer's markets for produce if I want to be 100% certain to avoid GMO. I'm leaving it posted so other people recognize it as misinformation as well.

For those of you who care about whether or not you're eating GMO Frankenfoods, this article I came across via Strike-the-Root gives us the following info:

Not many consumers realize that the FDA does not require genetically modified food to be labeled. That’s because the FDA has decided that you, dear consumer, don’t care if the tomato you’re eating has been cross bred with frog genes to render the tomato more resistant to cold weather. Some consumers may not be concerned with eating Frankenfood, but for those who are, here’s how to determine if the fruits and vegetables you’re buying are (GM) genetically modified.

Hat tip to Marion Owen for her valuable information. Here’s how it works:

How To I.D. Genetically Modified Food at the Supermarket =

For conventionally grown fruit, (grown with chemicals inputs), the PLU code on the sticker consists of four numbers. Organically grown fruit has a five-numeral PLU prefaced by the number 9. Genetically engineered (GM) fruit has a five-numeral PLU prefaced by the number 8.

For example:

A conventionally grown banana would be: 4011

An organic banana would be: 94011

A genetically engineered (GE or GMO) banana would be: 84011

These tips are specially important now that over 80% of all processed foods in the US are genetically modified. Many countries in the European Union have been banning GM products and produce (including Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary and Luxembourg). We say “Eat healthy, buy or grow organic”.

I always just assumed that by going paleo, and avoiding processed foods as much as possible would mean one would also avoid GMO foods. I did not realize that GMO produce has already infiltrated the marketplace. I thought GMO was largely confined to corn, wheat and soy crops to allow them to thrive under repeated pesticide spraying.

I will definitely be looking at the PLU's the next time I'm in a grocery store shopping for produce.

FEED Inc. & The Corporate Campaign Dialectic

The Genetically Modified Origins of the Sheeple Species

Seems to me like the "Paleo Diet" bubble on teh Interwebz has popped. Or jumped the shark...or run its course or whatever other cute term you want to use to refer to a fad that has passed and now generally viewed with condescending amusement by those who "now know better."

Of course you still have a contingent of hardcore cultists carrying on the practice. As I like to say when I talk to people in teh real life, "I don't do diets. I only eat Food, and I avoid Feed."

Food nourishes and strengthens the human body, Feed malnourishes, devitalizes, sickens and decays the human body over a long period of time if one makes up a significant part of their diet with it.

When asked why I call it "Feed" I say how else do you get the modern plague of shambling mounds of obesity one sees everywhere nowadays? Sheeple are raised from childhood eating all this Feed for a lifetime.

Soda, chips, candy, cookies, crackers, cakes, pastries, frozen meals, microwavable fare and most fast food and chain restaurant gross national products all qualify as FEED to the well trained eyes of the conspiritard food magic whackaloon's who received our invaluable indoctrination during the "paleo" fad diet bubble.

We who are illuminated with the esoteric knowledge of food magic understand the key to empowerment is simply receiving revelation to gain the power of discernment between "food" and "feed." Once you truly gain this knowledge, there's no going back.

Food is grown, raised, harvested and processed -- and if not consumed while fresh -- preserved in as natural and organic a state as possible to keep most of it's nutritious and nourishing qualities intact.

Feed is mass produced by a few large multinational corporations using bio-technological innovations to quickly and efficiently manufacture product units ready for global distribution and a near infinite shelf life. Its primary traits are using genetically modified grain products to create a marketable product that is usually adulterated with preservatives and flavor enhancements designed in a laboratory to stimulate the taste buds to fool the human body into thinking it's something good for you.

But above all, the primary difference between Food and Feed can be discerned by this: most real food requires little (if any) corporate mass media marketing campaigns to sell product and expand market shares and waistlines alike.

Most Feed products are trademarked brand names as a part of a Big Ag corporation's product "portfolio."  And they spend more money on test marketing, focus group testing, branding, creating and airing commercials and paying shills to viral market their products on teh Interwebz and social media, then they do on producing the actual Feed product for sale.

In what sane world does a company spend millions of dollars to air a thirty second commercial hawking  corn tortilla chips fried in rancid oils extracted from GMO-grains by boiling them in industrial solvents like hexane, and then loaded with devitalized salt and artificial flavors designed to hyperstimulate the human taste buds during the greatest American holiday celebration of the 21st century? Or is it precisely because it is a highly engineered product with no nutritional value and artificially flavored to incite uncontrollable snacking compulsions, that it requires millions of dollars to pitch it to we the sheeple during a StuporBowl Sunday commercial break?

Must be the same sort of sane world that considers a "part of a heart healthy breakfast" a bowlful of milk and sugar coated-cardboard-textured bits of grains sold in a cardboard box adorned with cute cartoon characters as just the kind of meal we need to start the day off with.

The questions of sanity in a world gone mad becomes even clearer when you take a closer look at one of these popular breakfast cereal brands and examine a recent marketing campaign gimmick they ran with to give the appearance of "Caring" and "Making a Difference" in "raising awareness." This is what Big Ag Feed producer, General Mills offers us as an example of a "corporate culture of environmental responsibility."

Us crazy conspiritard whackaloon practitioners of food magic see this as nothing more than the classic use of the social engineer's favorite tactic from their ancient playbook, the good 'ole thesis+anti-thesis=synthesis...also known as problem/reaction/solution aka the Hegelian dialectic.

First, have a look at a listing of many of the brands of Feed that General Mills sells. While the oats touted as the primary ingredient for Honey Nut Cheerios may not be from genetically modified oats, the rest of Genetically Modified Mills product portfolio is filled with GMO derived Feed crop ingredients.

Of course the dopes at the likes of snopes deny the connection between collapsing bee populations and GMO crop pesticides. They make their pro-GMO case by blaming the neonicotinoid pesticides sprayed on corn crops for a mass die off of bees in Ontario Canada.

But that's the entire point about GMO's to begin with...genetically modifying crop plants to withstand inundation with pesticides and weed killing herbicides IS the primary purpose for GMO in the first place... and pesticide-herbicide laden GM corn is the primary source for most Feed ingredients in the processed food industry:

Most of the American corn crop is “field corn,” a starchy grain highly valued worldwide for its versatility. This year, American farmers are projected to produce about 14 billion bushels of corn, or 980 billion pounds, according to the USDA, vastly more than any other grain (USDA 2014).
Corn is a component of a wide variety of goods on the American marketplace.  The USDA estimates that 40 percent of the U.S. corn crop is processed into ethanol for use as engine fuel, 37 percent goes for livestock feed and 11 percent is made into processed food ingredients like corn flour, corn syrup, corn starch and cooking oil (USDA 2012a). As of 2011, cornfields covered 92 million acres in all 50 states, with the most intense concentration in the Midwest.

Today’s cornfields are particularly vulnerable to pest infestations because corn is typically grown in huge monocultures, with little or no crop rotation.  Historically, farmers rotated crops to disrupt the life cycle of insects and diseases (Altieri 2000). They diversified their crops. Modern farmers often resort to chemical herbicides, insecticides and fungicides.

Based on figures from the USDA and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, EWG calculates that every year, American farmers apply around 300 million pounds of the active ingredients in pesticides to their cornfields (USDA 2012b).

Perish the thought! What whackaloon would even consider the possible effects 300 million pounds of pesticides and herbicides dumped yearly on the fruited plains of the USA Inc., would have anything to do with bee colonies dying off?  Oh, wait, we know what the REAL culprit is...it's CLIMATE CHANGE! No wait, the bee colonies need more vibrant diversity! The real problem is that bee colonies in the US are too homogeneous...they need lesbian gay bi-sexual and transgendered bees to increase the diversity! We also need to import millions of African, Central and South American bees to produce the honey and pollinate the crops that American bees just won't do....but I digress.

So let's go back to the use of the Hegelian dialectic again by the likes of General Mills. Much of the product portfolio of this company relies on the GM crops that require massive use of pesticides and herbicides that are undoubtedly playing a major role in killing off bee colonies nationwide. Instead of looking for ways to change production that doesn't involve the wholesale use of these life destroying chemicals on GM crops year round, they show us how to REALLY effect change by removing their cartoon character depiction on the boxes of their Honey Nut Cheerios product line. Now that's how you MAKE A DIFFERENCE and support the bees!

Of course, if you check out General Mill's statement on GMO's in their product lines, you'll discover their number one pro-GMO argument is the same shibboleth cited for the 90's great leftist cause due jour, Global Warming: consensus!

As genetically-modified (GM) ingredients become more common in the global food supply, particularly in the U.S., we know that consumers may have questions about this technology.

On safety – our number one priority – we find broad global consensus among food and safety regulatory bodies that approved GM ingredients are safe.

That's it?! And here we were, getting all worked up over nothing!? Broad global consensus has given GMO it's stamp of approval!

Nothing to see here sheeple, you may now resume your regularly programmed Feeding schedule.

Conspiritard Food Magic

Awhile back, I discovered a link back to this blog from TheRedPillWomen Reddit and found this comment from dana:

"just so you know, the guy who wrote that piece invented the red pill terminology in an essay in 2009 and hes great when discussing LTR game (he practically invented discussing it on the net, before athol kay), he just happens to have a lot of conspiritard and food magic beliefs as well."

lozlzolzozlozloozlozlzozlzolozlol! Thanks dana, luv ya too! I guess I'll do my best to put the retard into the conspiracy magic!

When it comes to the corporate fast food culture and it's multitude of restaurants that have blanketed all of the lands in our Brave New World Order, there certainly exists a conspiracy, and magic's got nothing to do with it.

It may seem like magic to those you whose brains have become too addled by ingesting copious amounts of aspartame, monosododium glutamate, phenylalanine and high fructose corn syrup in conjunction with a dire lack of adequate nutrients and saturated fats -- and not to mention a steady mind-diet of regularly scheduled mass media programming --  but I assure you, I'm going to break it down real simple-like, so that you too can see what's behind the magic of this retarded conspiracy:

ROUNDUP...

...aka GLYPHOSATE.

Let’s put aside the debate about antigenic proteins introduced by transgenes in GMO crops. Transgenes are genes from species that are not naturally present in crops of feed or food importance, e.g. spider genes, bacterial genes, viral genes, etc. These transgenes are capable of producing proteins in the plants that have never been in the human diet over the course of human evolution, stretching back thousands, even millions of years. GM proponents and regulators claim pseudo-scientifically that these novel new GM foods are ‘substantially equivalent‘ to conventional ones, despite a lack of human clinical toxicology studies to prove it; or, they claim that these proteins are inconsequential and do not represent a threat to human health, or the health of the biosphere as whole because they say so – a plea to their own self-appointed, baseless authority.

This debate about whether or not GMO foods contain problematic proteins is meant to confuse and distract from the real issue that if you eat corn, soy, cottonseed or canola containing GMO products – and everyone does since nothing is truthfully labeled – you are ingesting glyphosate (aka Roundup) residues.

This substance has literally changed the face of hunger and malnutrition that has plagued humanity throughout the entire history of our species residing on this planet:

The face of human hunger and malnutrition, before RoundUpReady Feed went global...
The face of human hunger and malnutrition, after RoundUpReady Feed went global.

It may not seem obvious, but the burgeoning monstrosity of accumulated flesh stuffing it's face with RoundUpReady Feed in the latter pic is just as ravenously hungry and critically malnourished as the unfortunate denizen of a famine ravaged country in Africa shown in the preceding pic.

Many arguments on teh Interwebz have been spawned over the idea that one single substance can serve as the vector for the epidemic of obesity that has afflicted every corner of the globe.

"It's the high fructose corn syrup!"
"No, it's the refined carbs!"
"Wrong, it's move more, eat less!
"Calories in, calories out!"

Any metropolis, 'burb, village, city, truckstop or town in our Brave New World Order that has more Fast Feed joints and drive-thrus, EBT-approved C-stores, and SNAP-eligible snack shops than farmer's markets, grocery stores and family farms; will have a statistically significant portion of the populace waddling and shambling about in GMO-RoundUpReady fueled-morbid obesity.

"Round Up the Sheeple...it's feedin' time!"

Roundup and all the industrially farmed,  genetically modified organisms engineered to withstand it's life destroying properties, is far and away the primary cash cow of one of the most satanic and demonic corporations of our Brave New World Order's corporate cartel-controlled marketplace

GMO-RoundUpReady-based Fast Feed is the primary vector for the plague that has ravaged our nation, engorged our waistlines, clogged our hardened arteries and overloaded our enviro-friendly-reduced-flush toilet bowls.

It doesn't get any simpler than this, retards.

Take your typical "VALUE MEAL" offering at any RoundUpReady Feed distributor found in malls and Shopping Centers all across the blighted plains, the good ole Hamburger, fries and cola combo:

Aren't You Hungry?

* The Hamburger meat comes from feedlot cattle, fattened to slaughter weight with RoundUpReady corn and soy feed, genetically modified and laced with a generous dose of antibiotics to keep the cows alive long enough to reach it's date at maximum weight with a bolt gun lobotomy at the hands of an illegal immigrant in the assembly line at your local USDA-inspected, factory farm slaughter facility.

* The bun is made with bleached white and enriched RoundUpReady wheat flour, RoundUpReady high fructose corn syrup, and partially-hydrogenated RoundUpReady Soybean margarine.

* The fries are manufactured from genetically modified potatoes, then deep fried in rancid, oxidized and overheated RoundUpReady Soybean or RoundUpReady Rapeseed oil (aka "Canola"), and finally salted with processed, iodized table salt adulterated with anti-caking silicate.

* The cheese is made from milk by RoundUpReady grain-fed dairy cattle.

* The cola is essentially carbonated water, flavored with RoundUpReady high fructose corn syrup and colored by caramel manufactured with sugar derived from RoundUpReady sugar beets. Oh, and don't forget to throw in some genetically modified yeast by-product (aka "citric acid") and phosphoric acid to boot.

Every aspect of this ubiquitous, popular sheeple feed combo-value meal is derived from bio-engineered crops genetically modified to be RoundUpReady so that the crops can be planted, grown and harvested on a mass industrial scale, with copious amounts of glyphosate sprayed on the crops repeatedly throughout the plants entire life cycle.

As more and more humans subsist predominantly on Big Ag processed fare composed of RoundUpReady plants and animals fattened up on RoundUpReady feed, mankind will continue to evolve...morphing in size and shape quicker than Darwin could've ever imagined.

The Origins of Genetically Modified Species

If you want to cut to the chase, you can always go straight to the source.

Now that we discussed the food magic part, it's time to get to the conspiritard part.

It's not conspiracy, it's a revolving door:

The FDA's pro-rBGH activities make more sense in light of conflicts of interest between the FDA and the Monsanto corporation. Michael R. Taylor, the FDA's deputy commissioner for policy, wrote the FDA's rBGH labelling guidelines. The guidelines, announced in February 1994, virtually prohibited dairy corporations from making any real distinction between products produced with and without rBGH. To keep rBGH-milk from being "stigmatized" in the marketplace, the FDA announced that labels on non-rBGH products must state that there is no difference between rBGH and the naturally occurring hormone.

In March 1994, Taylor was publicly exposed as a former lawyer for the Monsanto corporation for seven years. While working for Monsanto, Taylor had prepared a memo for the company as to whether or not it would be constitutional for states to erect labelling laws concerning rBGH dairy products. In other words. Taylor helped Monsanto figure out whether or not the corporation could sue states or companies that wanted to tell the public that their products were free of Monsanto's drug.

Taylor wasn't the only FDA official involved in rBGI-1 policy who had worked for Monsanto. Margaret Miller, deputy director of the FDA's Office of New Animal Drugs was a former Monsanto research scientist who had worked on Monsanto's rBGH safety studies up until 1989. Suzanne Sechen was a primary reviewer for rBGH in the Office of New Animal Drugs between 1988 and 1990. Before coming to the FDA. she had done research for several Monsanto-funded rBGH studies as a graduate student at Cornell University. Her professor was one of Monsanto's university consultants and a known rBGH promoter.

Remarkably. the GAO determined in a 1994 investigation that these officials' former association with the Monsanto corporation did not pose a conflict of interest.

Remarkably!

It couldn't be a conspiracy...

Biotech is Godzilla

It's been called the Paleo diet, the Primal diet, the caveman diet among other things. There's also a number of  labels, smears, and libels that proliferate in the mass media and on teh Interwebz, all designed to make the average person form an impression in their minds that the "paleo" diet phenomenon is some bizarre re-enactment lifestyle that only kooks and morons are promoting...just another kooky, fad diet.

Here's a new name: call it the Anti-Monsanto diet. If you went out of your way to avoid eating or drinking any feed products that have ingredients manufactured by this evil corporation, you're basically following the same guidelines as the Paleo or Primal diet anyhow. When it comes to making the base ingredients for sheeple feed aka "processed food," Monsanto is King.

Anyone can look at this list of sheeple feed companies and connect them to popular food items found in grocery stores, convenience stores, vending machines and checkout stands all across first world countries. Don't forget the fast food, franchise restaurants and even most fine dining establishments obtain their ingredients from these feed manufacturers as well.

In fact, if you look at the following diagram showing the Corporatization of the Sheeple Feed industry, you could say it's missing the central hub:

Put this logo smack dab in the middle and connect all those brands to it, and  you'll have a more accurate diagram.

All of those companies buy their manufactured base ingredients, produced by the crops genetically engineered, subsidized by the Federal Government and turned into thousands upon thousands of different sheeple feed products. Have a look at the prominent members of their board of directors. The President of McDonalds Corp. USA, the retired CEO and Chairman of the Board for the Sarah Lee Corp., the CFO of Proctor and Gamble.

Other members of Monsanto's Board include former executive officers from Lockheed and Martin, CISCO, and other energy and technology companies. The more you look into it, the more you realize that all of the "Industrial Complex" corporations are all interconnected with each other, and connected to the top appointments of all the regulatory agencies in the Federal Government. With this kind of influence, they've been able to saturate the entire food chain with their poison. Sound crazy? Start reading your food labels. you'll notice certain common ingredients found in most of it.

Monsanto's GMO soybeans are used to make Soybean oil and GMO rapeseeds to make Canola oil, both of which are commonly used in deep fat fryers, salad dressings, mayo, potato chips amongst other things.

Partially Hydrogenated "Vegetable" Oil (aka GMO Soybean or Rapeseed) is used to make margarines and shortenings, which is then used to manufacture a near endless supply of baked products, snack foods, deserts, cakes, pastries, breads, buns, tortillas, crackers and condiments.

High Fructose Corn Syrup. Corn oil. Dextrose. Maltodextrin. Corn meal. All key ingredients in the sheeple feed industry. All derived from the genetically modified, pesticide drenched fields grown all across the fruited plains.

If FDA ingredient listing requirements called for listing sources of those ingredients, the big M would be on almost everything.

To go on the Anti-Monsanto diet, would be to essentially avoid almost any foods that come in a package, box or can that has an ingredient listing on it. Given the ubiquity of Monsanto derived ingredients in so much of the world's feed supply, could it really be hyperbole to link this Global Corporate Conglomerate of Corpulence, Disease and Death,  with the worldwide rise in obesity?

People regularly try to pinpoint a single vector in trying to attribute blame on the obesity epidemic. High Fructose Corn Syrup. Deep fried fast food. More sedentary lifestyles. Meh. If you want to try and point the finger at a single source, I don't think it's too outlandish to focus on these dastardly bastards.

Here's another thought to consider: an anti-Monsanto diet, would also leave out all of the factory farmed meats in which the cows, chickens and pigs are all fed Monsanto's genetically modified, Round Up drenched grains. Grass fed. pasture raised animal products are the only way you can assure you're not eating anything produced by Monsanto.

As J. Stanton of gnolls.org points out:

It’s clear that it’s far more profitable to sell us processed grain products than meat, eggs, and vegetables…which leaves a lot of money available to spend on persuading us to buy them. Are you starting to understand why grains are encased in colorful packaging, pushed on us as “heart-healthy” by the government, and advertised continually in all forms of media?

And when we purchase grass-fed beef directly from the rancher, eggs from the farmer, and produce from the grower, we are bypassing the entire monumentally profitable system of industrial agriculture—the railroads, grain elevators, antibiotics, growth hormones, plows, combines, chemical fertilizers (the Haber process, by which ammonium nitrate fertilizer is made, uses 3-5% of world natural gas production!), processors, inspectors, fortifiers, manufacturers, distributors, and advertisers that profit so handsomely by turning cheap grains into expensive food-like substances.

All these additives, fillers, oils and by-products of their grains may be bad enough as it is, but all of these things produced by Monsanto may also have a multiplier effect on destroying the health of people that eat their feed. It's the great sheeple feed ROUND UP.

Here's a recently published study on the effects of glyphosate on the human gut biome (your gut bacteria, you know, the key to your immune system). Glyphosate is the key ingredient in Round Up, the herbicide that all Monsanto crops have been genetically engineered to withstand repeated spraying to kill weeds, insects and rodents?

Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup®, is the most popular herbicide used worldwide. The industry asserts it is minimally toxic to humans, but here we argue otherwise. Residues are found in the main foods of the Western diet, comprised primarily of sugar, corn, soy and wheat. Glyphosate's inhibition of cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes is an overlooked component of its toxicity to mammals. CYP enzymes play crucial roles in biology, one of which is to detoxify xenobiotics. Thus, glyphosate enhances the damaging effects of other food borne chemical residues and environmental toxins. Negative impact on the body is insidious and manifests slowly over time as inflammation damages cellular systems throughout the body.
Here, we show how interference with CYP enzymes acts synergistically with disruption of the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids by gut bacteria, as well as impairment in serum sulfate transport. Consequences are most of the diseases and conditions associated with a Western diet, which include gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, depression, autism, infertility, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. We explain the documented effects of glyphosate and its ability to induce disease, and we show that glyphosate is the “textbook example” of exogenous semiotic entropy: the disruption of homeostasis by environmental toxins.

All the processed food, all the feed lot grain, gardens, lawns and golf courses have been inundated with glysophate.

Mmmm....looks appetizing!

How did we get to this point in time, where a large, multi-national Agricultural corporation is able to infiltrate their poisons into nearly every food consumed nowadays? Simple. They've worked their way into the halls of power in Sodom by the Potomac.

The revolving door of FDA/USDA appointments and Federal Government administrative personnel has been well documented. And bit by bit, piece by piece, we the sheeple get sold out by the politicians who approve the poisoning of our food supply by this corporate behemoth.

The Republican party? The Democrat party? Try the Monsanto party.

Government for the sheeple, by the Multinational Agricultural-Chemical-Pharmaceutical Corporation. They own and run this feedlot we call society.

Aren't you glad you have the freedom to vote? A vote for a Democrat Jackass or a vote for a Republican Pachyderm, is a vote for the Monsanto Jachyderm.

Well, I'm not interested in voting for this incorporated monstrosity. Therefore I don't vote with my ballot, and I don't vote with my dollars when making my purchasing decisions. Go to your local farmer's markets. Buy organic. Boycott the bastards.

Science & The Institute of Manufactured Consensus

It seems like one of the core tenets of the common skeptics of unconventional, non-mainstream lifestyle advice such as the kind blogged about here, is that one must have the weight of SCIENCE to back up one's assertions or you're just a bloviating blowhard, advocating lunacy to the detriment of those foolish enough to follow such advice.

Advice like avoiding GMO-grain based foods; getting regular sun exposure without sunscreen at mid-day; refraining from ingesting fluoride in toothpaste and fluoridated public water supplies; or eating saturated fats, whole-fat dairy, salt, red meat and mercury-laden ocean fish etc., will all usually be met with at least a few folks saying "Wheres your links to peer reviewed science?"

Here's the problem with these SCIENCE based attacks on such advice...if one spends enough time doing relevant key word searches on PubMed, one can almost find seemingly corroborative evidence from research articles, abstracts, journal entries and other peer-reviewed documents on any topic they like.

I received the following comment on my old Fluoride post back in 2010 :

"Just some evidence fluride works. I could spam research all day at you HL. Typing 'water fluridation' into PubMed (with filters for systemic reviews and clinical trials) produces over 5000 results."

All one needs to do, is to begin actually reading the contents of a few of those results to discover that in fact all 5000 results do not prove that "fluoride works." What you do in fact find, is a wide variety of results indicating all sorts of recommendations and conclusions. What one really needs to consider when reading PubMed articles are the following variables: 1) Who is financing and conducting the study; 2) what was the methodology used in carrying out the study (statistical chicanery or the actual use of the scientific method?); 3) what was the conclusions drawn from the study; 4) do the conclusions actually match the results of the experiment or study?

Read enough PubMed abstracts and peer-reviewed articles, and you'll begin to see a pattern. You can find articles that will state a hypothesis to justify the research, read the methodology involved in conducting the research, and in fact see that the research either corroborates or disqualifies a particular hypothesis...and the conclusion will be vague or inconclusive, often concluding that further research is required. This is very common when the topic you are researching is already widely considered to be "settled science." But not always. Sometimes, you can find PubMed articles that clearly support a politically incorrect hypothesis and it draws conclusions that go against the prevailing wisdom of conventional, consensus-derived wisdom.

Other means of corrupted and compromised PubMed studies involve studies with blatantly corrupted variables - such as conflating margarine and butter in a single categorical designation as "fats" or studying  red meat consumption by surveying respondents on how much pizza, hot dogs and hamburgers they've eaten in the last year.  Using experiments with such categorical errors is common, but usually does not inhibit "science journalists" and "professional nutritionists" in making recommendations based on conclusions from such inherently flawed studies.

Beginning with the topic first referenced by Anonymous comment five years ago, let us take a closer look at how PubMed does in fact contain corroboration for a few of the more common "conspiracy theory" topics regarding health and nutrition.

Fluoride

Developmental Fluoride Neurotoxicity: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

"A recent report from the National Research Council (NRC 2006) concluded that adverse effects of high fluoride concentrations in drinking water may be of concern and that additional research is warranted. Fluoride may cause neurotoxicity in laboratory animals, including effects on learning and memory (Chioca et al. 2008; Mullenix et al. 1995)."

Exposure to fluoridated water and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder prevalence among children and adolescents in the United States: an ecological association

"Parents reported higher rates of medically-diagnosed ADHD in their children in states in which a greater proportion of people receive fluoridated water from public water supplies. The relationship between fluoride exposure and ADHD warrants future study."

Additional research is warranted! In the meantime, I'll take a pass and continue to avoid fluoridated toothpaste.

Genetically Modified Organisms

There's a lot of mis-formed dis-information on the topic of GMOs. Mice genes spliced with jellyfish genes to create rodents that glow in the dark, or papaya crops genetically modified to resist crop destroying diseases are all aspects of the topic of genetically modifying organisms for various, purported reasons. Some of these GMO experiments have indeed given some supposed benefit to humanity...but that's neither here nor there.

All you really need to concern yourself with when it comes to this topic is simple: It's all about GLYPHOSATE.

The majority of the Big Agricultural Industrial Complex feed producers that manufacture 95% of the ingredients found in all processed - fast - convenience - junk food, is based on GMO crops, modified to survive repeated glyphosate pesticide spraying. If you really do a thorough search of PubMed, you'll find a lot of articles documenting the real problems with GMO's and what they are doing to human health.

Major pesticides are more toxic to human cells than their declared active principles.

"Despite its relatively benign reputation, Roundup {glyphosate} was among the most toxic herbicides and insecticides tested."

Glyphosate, pathways to modern diseases II: Celiac sprue and gluten intolerance

"Celiac disease, and, more generally, gluten intolerance, is a growing problem worldwide, but especially in North America and Europe, where an estimated 5% of the population now suffers from it. Symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, skin rashes, macrocytic anemia and depression. It is a multifactorial disease associated with numerous nutritional deficiencies as well as reproductive issues and increased risk to thyroid disease, kidney failure and cancer. Here, we propose that glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide, Roundup(®), is the most important causal factor in this epidemic.Fish exposed to glyphosate develop digestive problems that are reminiscent of celiac disease. Celiac disease is associated with imbalances in gut bacteria that can be fully explained by the known effects of glyphosate on gut bacteria."

Glyphosate, pathways to modern diseases III: Manganese, neurological diseases, and associated pathologies.

"Manganese (Mn) is an often overlooked but important nutrient, required in small amounts for multiple essential functions in the body. A recent study on cows fed genetically modified Roundup(®)-Ready feed revealed a severe depletion of serum Mn. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup(®), has also been shown to severely deplete Mn levels in plants. Here, we investigate the impact of Mn on physiology, and its association with gut dysbiosis as well as neuropathologies such as autism, Alzheimer's disease (AD), depression, anxiety syndrome, Parkinson's disease (PD), and prion diseases."

Glyphosate induces human breast cancer cells growth via estrogen receptors

"Glyphosate is an active ingredient of the most widely used herbicide and it is believed to be less toxic than other pesticides. However, several recent studies showed its potential adverse health effects to humans as it may be an endocrine disruptor....

...These results indicated that low and environmentally relevant concentrations of glyphosate possessed estrogenic activity. Glyphosate-based herbicides are widely used for soybean cultivation, and our results also found that there was an additive estrogenic effect between glyphosate and genistein, a phytoestrogen in soybeans."

Sure seems like there's a lot more to this topic than just the fevered rantings of my fellow Conspiritards who believe in Food Magic and are consumed with paranoia about Biotech in the food supply...

Seafood, Mercury & Selenium

Let us consider another topic near and dear to my palate, the mercury content of seafood:

Selenium and mercury in pelagic fish in the central north pacific near Hawaii

"Protective effects of selenium against mercury toxicity have been demonstrated in all animal models evaluated. As interactions between selenium and mercury and their molar ratios in seafood are essential factors in evaluating risks associated with dietary mercury exposure, considering mercury content alone is inadequate."

Omega-3 fatty acids, mercury, and selenium in fish and the risk of cardiovascular diseases

"Fish consumption is associated with lower risk of cardiovascular disease. Some fish species also contain methylmercury, which may increase cardiovascular risk, as well as selenium, a trace element that could counter the effects of methylmercury or have beneficial effects itself. These potentially conflicting effects have created public confusion about the risks and benefits of fish consumption in adults. We examined the evidence for cardiovascular effects of fish consumption, particularly effects of marine omega-3 fatty acids, methylmercury, and selenium. Compelling evidence indicates that modest fish consumption substantially reduces cardiovascular risk, in particular cardiac mortality, related at least partly to benefits of omega-3 fatty acids."

As I told you before...eat more mercury!

Sun Exposure, Sunscreen and Vitamin D

Of all the ideas I ever try to discuss with other people in teh real life regarding politically incorrect health and nutrition topics, this one is the hardest to try and overcome the average sheeple's regularly scheduled programming.

The Sunscreen Industrial Complex is the most formidable front in the war on Vitamin D and good health. You can find 10000000000+ articles on PubMed regarding sun exposure and skin cancer, or the efficacy of sunscreen in preventing sunburn etc. But hidden amongst all the pro-solarphobia articles, you will still find a few that make the same arguments I've made in the past for prioritizing proper sun exposure as a key measure in attaining good health:

Sunlight and vitamin D for bone health and prevention of autoimmune diseases, cancers, and cardiovascular disease.

Although chronic excessive exposure to sunlight increases the risk of nonmelanoma skin cancer, the avoidance of all direct sun exposure increases the risk of vitamin D deficiency, which can have serious consequences.

Sunlight, UV-radiation, vitamin D and skin cancer: how much sunlight do we need?

"Vitamin D is the sunshine vitamin for good reason. During exposure to sunlight, the utraviolet B photons enter the skin and photolyze 7-dehydrocholesterol to previtamin D3 which in turn is isomerized by the body's temperature to vitamin D3. Most humans have depended on sun for their vitamin D requirement. Skin pigment, sunscreen use, aging, time of day, season and latitude dramatically affect previtamin D3 synthesis. Vitamin D deficiency was thought to have been conquered, but it is now recognized that more than 50% of the world's population is at risk for vitamin D deficiency. This deficiency is in part due to the inadequate fortification of foods with vitamin D and the misconception that a healthy diet contains an adequate amount of vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency causes growth retardation and rickets in children and will precipitate and exacerbate osteopenia, osteoporosis and increase risk of fracture in adults. The vitamin D deficiency has been associated pandemic with other serious consequences including increased risk of common cancers, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases and cardiovascular disease. There needs to be a renewed appreciation of the beneficial effect of moderate sunlight for providing all humans with their vitamin D requirement for health."

The takeaway from all this, is that PEER REVIEWED SCIENCE as referenced by those who consider PubMed to be the holy scripture and the be-all-end-all arbiter of authoritative proscriptions for human health and nutrition, is never "settled." One can always find conflicting reports to back up whatever assertions they wish to prove with PEER REVIEWED RESEARCH.

The ultimate point is to manufacture consensus to produce a coordinated narrative that cannot easily be fact-checked, so as to confuse interested laymen and laywomen researchers with a plethora of conflicting articles and abstracts, so as to hide the truth amongst a blizzard of mis- and dis- information. It's hard to discern what is truth and what is lie when their are 5000+ conflicting search results to sift through, so most sheeple take the path of least resistance and comply with our regularly scheduled programming.

But if you look carefully through all the doctrine and scriptures of the Holy Church of Peer-Reviewed Consensus, you can find enough heretical content to justify and rationalize anything....which is why I usually don't bother with citing articles on PubMed as a means of proving anything to skeptics.

No matter how many search results can be referenced in the archives at the Institute of Manufactured Consensus, I'll continue to stick with my conspiritard food magic and avoid fluoridated water and toothpaste (no cavities yet), I'll continue to avoid GMO feed as much as possible (I've never felt better,) I'll continue to get sun exposure at mid-day with no "protection" (haven't been sunburned in years,) and I'll continue to eat as much seafood as I damn well please (no apparent signs of mercury poisoning other than the existence of this blog chock full of raving lunacies...).

As always, take this all with a grain of salt, N=1, your mileage may vary, etc.

Don't take it from me, I am no Doctor...I only play one on teh Interwebz.

There's No Going Back

There are times where I imbibe a bit more alcohol then I should, and the conversations get serious, and I start dropping knowledge on my family and friends. It usually doesn't turn out well. I've learned this lesson the hard way.

You can't force feed the red pill.

Once you see something for what it truly is, you cannot "un-see" it.

You can ignore it and play along with the oblivious ignorance of those you care about, to preserve social graces and superficial functionality of your cherished relationships.

But it still enrages me when I see those I care most about, who are firmly plugged into the matrix of our Brave New World Order, and not even aware of it.

I am infuriated...

...every time I see a man, emasculated by the social engineering of our cultural programming, incapable of understanding why his relationships failed or are failing...

...every time I see a woman masculinized by the social engineering of our cultural programming, mistaking her simulation of male drive and aggression as "strength" and her innate femininity and submissive nature as a weakness...

...every time I see a dysfunctional couple and I can immediately discern the dynamic between them and where they are getting it all so wrong...

...and every time I encounter a person that excuses and rationalizes bad decision making on their part, in the hopes that you will sympathize with them and make themselves feel better about lying to themselves.

There's only person you can change. Yourself.

You can give another the tools to analyze and introspectively determine where they've gone wrong, how they've been mislead, and how to correct it. But if they cannot face the ugly truth about themselves, there's nothing you can do but wait and hope they eventually get to that point.

For that is each person's personal "rock bottom." When the ugly truths of their behavior and thought patterns becomes unavoidable. When the rationalizations and cognitive dissonance no longer can convince you to keep doing what you've been doing, expecting different results.

Interpersonal relationship dysfunction and the corruption of familial bonding is one of the primary effects of the blue pill. Once you take the red pill and recognize the truth of so many dynamics, you develop a quick eye in discerning all these things we talk about in this fringe of teh interwebz. Once you have the framework, you quickly recognize the various facets....sometimes instantaneously.

Hypergamy, solipsism, the feminine imperative, AMOG-power plays; male hierarchy status jockeying; serial polygamy; frame and re-framing; choice addiction; wall denial; involuntary celibacy; social ineptitude; the maddonna-whore complex; Churchianity; "let's you and him fight," NAWALT, "don't hit me, I'm a girl," attraction is not a choice; "let's just be friends," carousel riders looking to settle down; abusive relationships founded on addiction to the dark triad traits; IOI's; kino escalation; cuckoldry; the SMP; the MMP; the average frustrated chump; the ladder theory; shaming language; social dominance and projection....

...once you're well versed in all these concepts and memes, your direct and indirect social interactions with the world, as well as your observations of those in your sphere of influence, come into sharp focus.

You are equipped with a schema to interpret people's words and behavior, and you have developed a self awareness the average sheeple in the herd of civilization is utterly oblivious to.

You now see things with clarity. Then you realize just how ugly most truths are, and you sometimes wish you could go back to believing the beautiful lies of the mainstream consciousness. Unless you experience brain damage that inflicts amnesia, you will find that you can't.

Once you know the truth, you cannot hide from it, even if you want to.

We love to talk about the red pill - blue pill concept in the MAndrosphere. Many claim to have taken "THE" red pill with regards to some aspect of gender relations or sexuality. Others will relate it to the Fiat Usury Cartel. Others, to the charade of 2 party politics, and yet others to diet and lifestyle. All of these red pills are all the same thing. There is no difference between the variations discussed.

There is only one red pill.

Truth.

The first red pill I ever choked down, was the truth about diet.

I often refer to the "paleo" diet to people...yet according to the foremost practitioners and guru's of the 'paleo' diet movement, I am certainly not "paleo."

There's a reason for this. When most people are inquiring about the way I eat, why I choose to eschew certain foods, and why I heartily engorge myself on others, I simply tell them I "loosely" follow the paleo diet. It's a term that's easy to remember. It's planting a seed, and anyone who may become motivated to learn more, can find numerous references to the "paleo" sub culture at bookstores, in magazines and on teh interwebz. If anyone asks further than that, I'll usually just say, "check out marksdailyapple.com."

In my estimation, a person who is overweight, suffering from degenerative conditions, depression and other maladies from a lifetime of eating in the CSFO - (Concentrated Sheeple Feed Operations - Paleo puts them on the right path to getting back on track and learning the difference between real, naturally raised food versus CSFO feed.

Just like all of the gender and relationship dynamics notated in the previous section of this blog post, understanding the truth about food and what is optimal for the human body and what is literally destructive and slow motion poisoning gives you an awareness that will forever change your relationship with food and the way you view it.

Even though I essentially follow the Paleo/Primal version of the Pareto principle, i.e. eat pure 80% of the time, 20% indulgence in junk food, I can no longer simply enjoy the worst of the junk feed that was designed solely to stimulate your taste buds.

When I eat some cake (if someone bakes me a cake for my birthday, or I am at a special occasion, I will put my principles aside, and have a bit of the poison for the sake of social cohesion.) I still choke it down while thinking about all of the toxic crap found in it's ingredients.

I can't help it, because I know the truth.

Most folks will look at a picture of a meal like this, and think to themselves that it looks like a mighty tasty meal, and even though it may be bad for them, it's okay to indulge in it once in awhile, because it tastes so damn good. Others will think "that's too much calories for a single meal!"

I look at a picture like this, and this is what I think in a matter of seconds:

- Hot dog and hamburger buns, made with enriched, bleached and brominated white flour, high fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated soybean oil (typically baked with margarine);

- French fries and onion rings are deep fried in rancid, oxidized "vegetable" oil like soybean or canola, than slated with processed, de-vitalized and iodized "salt" adulterated with silicone dioxide (anti-caking agent);

- The drink is just liquid corn syrup (GMO corn), artificial coloring and carbonated water with citric acid and caramel coloring;

- the mayo in the burger and atop the fries is made from egg whites emulsified with GMO produced soybean oil. But it's not just any old egg whites....it comes from factory farmed, battery-caged hens with their beaks burned off, confined for life and fed a diet solely made of GMO soy feed, never even allowed direct exposure to the sun, so as to maximize the production of nutritionally inferior eggs;

- the hot dog is most likely full of filler material, usually corn-based derivatives like dextrose, maltodextrin, ...perhaps some "textured vegetable protein," and almost certain to have Monosodium Glutamate added to it.

- Same goes for the meat in the burger. MSG is the ultimate meat additive that promotes taste bud addiction. Both the meat in the hot dog and the burger also come from CAFO operations and may contain meat sourced from literally hundreds of different cows, slaughtered, processed and blended at a central processing facility where it is exposed to e coli, salmonella and other virulent bacteria.

These are all the facts about such FEED. I can't unlearn all that I've learned in studying up on the source of the substances I consume to nourish my body. This is how I SEE food choices offered me at any given moment.

Thanks....but no thanks. I'd rather "Intermittent Fast" and wait until I can get to some real FOOD.

I don't eat FEED.

It's been 4 years since I last ate a so-called "value meal" like the one pictured above. I distinctly remember that it simply did not taste good to me at all anymore. The meat tasted corrupt. The rancid vegetable oils and the mayo-sauce tasted vile. And the soda? I can't believe I used to drink that shit on a daily basis for years and years of my life.

Once you see these things, and you recognize that the FEED of corporate Agriculture is literal poison, it's hard to resist becoming the blowhard preacher again, when you see your loved ones poisoning themselves - often times gratuitously and with great gusto.

It's even more difficult when you serve as a living manifestation of the difference in health and well being avoiding such poisons has. It's now been over 5 years ago since I studied up on the topic of food vs. feed and changed my eating habits, and "devolved" from the last stage in the above picture to resembling the fit, healthy and vibrant man walking behind the shambling Wal Martian with a big cup of liquid corn sugar in his hand.

Many refuse to believe their lying eyes when I tell them how I eat. The blue pill of mainstream conventional wisdom is a powerful drug.

"All that red meat and saturated fat? You're gonna die of a heart attack or colon cancer! And what about all the vitamins and nutrients found in the heart-healthy whole grains?!?!?! You think white rice is better for you than brown rice?!?!? WTF? What do  you mean you regularly deep fry your food in coconut oil? Bacon, every day? Butter and salt on all your vegetables?!?!"

Dear incredulous, fat and sickly person....yes, it's all true. I really do eat like that. Every single day. For years on end now. Do I look fat and sickly to you? You just told me I look better than ever...that I look like I'm about to turn 30 instead of 40....you think it's just "good genes?" Don't you remember when I had a double chin and a big beer belly and perpetual dark circles under my eyes?

I remember. I see and feel the difference every single day.

Once you see the truth, there's no going back. I am not on a "diet." I simply eat real food. The difference is, I have the knowledge and truth that enable me to discern the difference between real food and FEED.

Sometimes I may in fact indulge in junk foods for some reason or another. Even in those instances, I'll do my best to avoid the worst of the modern industrialized feed products. If I feel like the occasion calls for dessert, I'll get some natural ice cream made with real sugar or dark chocolate truffles or I'll eat some pie (but not the crust - most usually made with hydrogenated oils). When I do so, I get incredulous looks from those who know how strict I normally am with my food choices. I smile and say "the taste of this treat is certainly worth the rare indulgence! I'm going to enjoy every bite of this."

And I do. Sugar is one helluva drug. It's the addiction and daily consumption of it that will kill you.

In all this time, I've come to realize something else when it concerns eating food. It's not just the ingredients that I'm vigilant about.

I've also become really conscious of the habitual behaviors and social rituals around food.

Where I once considered cooking a laborious and time consuming chore (hence the rationalization for eating fast food 5 or more times a week), I now take great pride in procuring fresh, pure and natural ingredients, and taking great care to cook meals with said ingredients.

I despise the culture of the microwave.

Wrapped in plastic and nuked, destroying the texture and full flavors of the ingredients.

I loathe the mentality behind driving and eating.

Or doing anything else BUT savoring well made food at a sit down meal.

I hate eating off of paper plates, paper napkins, styrofoam cups and bowls, and with plastic utensils. I strive to make every meal I eat, a REAL MEAL, made with real food, eaten at table with real silverware and porcelain and glass flatware, with good company to commiserate and savor the meal with. It is one of the finest pleasures in this life.

Life is too short to waste it on fast meals eaten simply because you're trying to maintain your unstable blood sugar because you're eating FEED for the majority of your waking life.

Thanks to not being on the blood glucose roller coaster of inconsistent energy crashes, I can regularly "fast" for hours on end.

No, I don't need to slam this junk food, or snacks or candy down, because I'm starving. I can wait til I get home or some real food is available.

"No thanks, I'll pass on the complimentary airline meal on this 10 hour flight. I'll just have a scotch on the rocks, thanks!"

No problem.

One final note: along with the outsourcing of feed to Big Agrictulture corporations and their feed products, I've seen a generalized loss of cooking skills and knowledge.

When I was a child, 'potluck' meant everyone COOKED or PREPARED food to bring to the event.

Nowadays, every potluck I go to  is literally 80-90% take out and/or fast food.  I've been to several for which the ONLY home cooked dish, was the one I brought.

That sucks.

People used to take great pride in preparing a dish to be shared amongst a group gathering. Such a dish could serve as an interesting topic of conversation, and recognition of the artistry and cleverness of the cook. People would regularly invite well known cooks to such events with specific requests "Please bring your Beef Stew! Or your Chili!" Husbands would take pride in bragging about their wife's specialty dish that has everyone raving. People would beg for recipes and cooking tips. Real food, made by hand and from the hearth of a home...it's one of the best parts of belonging to a group or organization that does have regular pot luck festivities.

Not anymore.

For the past several years, I've gone out of my way to always hand prepare a real dish for any potlucks I'm invited to. And when I attend, I will usually only eat the food that I made, and any other food that someone else made from scratch. Even if I know the food may have the kind of ingredients I recognized as "poisonous," I actively encourage everyone to COOK A REAL DISH rather than bring take out. As I'm the guy who's now become well known for these exhortations, I put my dietary discipline aside to support the continuation of the lost art of cooking AT HOME.

I don't eat pasta. But if I'm at a potluck and someone brought some home made lasagna, I'll have a piece, and I'll profusely praise the cook. Amongst my peer groups and acquaintances, I seek to inspire a revival in the traditional practice of the potluck. For this higher goal, I gladly put aside my usual strict dietary discipline.

Good food and good cooking, shared amongst family and good friends. These things are essential to living a good life.

Once you realize the truth of this, there's no going back.
